For example, try using a brand called Silicon Power found on Amazon for approx £50. It easily outperforms brands such as Samsung, Crucial, Sandisk, and others.

Everybody loves branded items. When we say Dell, HP, Lenovo, Sony, Toshiba, or Samsung we think “Oh yes I love them”. That’s because they have a good reputation – mainly for busineses. But for home use, they are very slow because they install lots of their proprietary software on it (bloatware), which uses up majority of the system resources.
Buy alternative brands from companies who are top of their league for performance. Buy brand such as Alienware, Asus, MSI, NVidia, AMD, ATi, Intel.

We DO NOT recommend Norton or McAfee because they do not perform very well compared to the Free ones. Everyone believed Norton and McAfee are very good….but that’s because they are very heavily marketed by their partner company Curry’s PC World. Take any computer from Curry’s PC World and you will find either Norton or McAfee on it…along with bloatware (reducing real performance).

Performance matters above all in any computer or device. Buy brand such as Alienware, Asus, MSI, NVidia, AMD, ATi, Intel, as opposed to Dell, HP, Lenovo, and other typical market brands. Those typical market brand will most often have slow performance. Consider a Mercedes and Lamborghini. Both very good cars, but Mercedes will be far slower than a Lamborghini, at the same time with a higher price tag. Same goes for computers. Performance comes at a cost.
